     In the poem "I, Too, Sing America", by Langston Hughes, the tones of bitterness and determination show the author's dislike of his situation. He refuses to give up, though, and will achieve his goals someday. He is not treated as an equal human being, either. One day, though, he will be treated equally, and he will continue to look forward to that day.
